its been a year ago this month Pete was diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer ,
sometimes I feel I was trapped in a very very bad dream
Im makeing a new life ,new friends
and a couple special very old friends have come back into my life and changed it totally

Im coping ...and looking into the future with a lot less fear ...I miss him terribly ...but I know he is smileing at me and I know he is proud of how Im copeing

Ok back orders are almost done
I have had a fraudulent transaction on my bank so my account has been locked untill I get a new card ..it will be the end of the week before I can post out any of the orders caus I cant use my debit card ..and I just cant get to the bank to get any cash ..so hang on in there ..they are comming xx

I have opened my shop again and am now taking orders
the back orders should be all out by next week ..and new orders July

I have reduced some of the dolls right now on Etsy
and I have some new bears for sale and Im selling off some of my own collection

I have got used to Pete not being with me now ...I lost him a long time ago ..when he became so ill ..and have got used to being on my own
but I will never get over how he died ...ever
that I will have to live with ..but I have no regrets ..everything was said that should have been said, and I did everything within my power to keep him well
now I will keep my last promise to him ...to live ...never forget him ..but I have to live ..and love ..and be happy ..and he made me promise
he didnt want me to be a wailing widow ...he wanted me to be.. me ...Im trying

They say everything happens for a reason ...be dammed if I can see why I lost Pete .. ...I dont believe in God ..but I do believe in Karma and the human spirit .. and Fate , Destiny and Lady Luck ..and they are leading me by the hand ..and I will follow

I cant believe its been almost 2 months ...and still everyday throws up its challenges ... back orders are slowly going out ...much slower than I thought ..but I still spend most my days trying to sort out this hell that Im living in

Paperwork and even more paperwork ...wondering when I will feel anything like normal ..and not drowning all the time :(
I cant remember feeling anything other than sick to my stomach ....

Pete has been given days to live ..he is desperately poorly and in need of 24 hr care and I just cant leave him..I have been told again it will be soon
I cant even begin to say how I feel or what our family is going through

3rd time since February :(
but Pete is back in hospital .he wasnt too well since the finish of his radiotherapy
which we put down to the side effects ...but .we had to call the ambulance saturday
they are running more tests on Pete today
his pancreas is enlarged and very painful ..it can be several things ...including the obvious
he isnt allowed to eat and on morphine ...and in much less pain
..and they have taken him off steroids ..and hey ...much less pain :(

Pete is still quite ill ..but we have been to the Hospital this week and the Drs
all of them have said ..its the Radiotherapy and Meds not the cancer making him ill
and at this stage he still has a fighting chance ...so that made us feel better
on a positive note ..although he is poorly
he is eating like a horse ..thats my man xx

another day and Pete is still ill
last Wednesday and Thursday he looked so well ...and then wham !
he just has no energy at all ..his head is fuzzy ...and there is that little cough ..that he hasn't noticed ...but I have
and my heart sinks ..
so I go through the motions of living ..whilst he is upstairs sleeping ..
Im downstairs
washing up ..ironing ..hovering ..all the things he has always done
I miss him so much just being by me ..and I hate him being so ill
and its very hard to stay focused and positive and get my work done
but tomorrow we will see his surgeon ..and I am thinking of talking to Tracy ..I have that scream caught in my throat again
..so I write it down here instead of screaming

every day on Facebook I put what makes me smile ...every day something has to make me smile ..
because I am scarred of loosing me
Pete always says Im always laughing and always smileing
no..... he says I would laugh if my fanny was on fire ...LOL
but its bloody hard to do it some days ...but if I dont ..then I am gone ..and this sad me is here ...and Pete dosnt need that sad me ...he needs me
so I smile

this week Im sorting out the delayed wigs
and the Etsy custom orders

Chemo didnt work
right now we feel like Ok whats next

all of the lesions he has are under 1 cm ..we have been told thats good
7 in his lungs ...2 in the lymph glands under his armpits
2 in his chest lymph nodes

and we still dont know if the brain tumour has shrunk

he has skin cancer in his abdomen ..groin and his back ...
they are pinning all hopes on immune-therapy

I feel like I have been hit by a train
and reading everything I can get my hands on about strenghtening the immune system
and natural vitamins that help healthy cells recognise cancer cells and fight them

..there is a lot of stuff out there ..its just finding it and sifting through it

we have to get Pete strong again so he can take the treatment
steroids and the brain tumour have taken their toll
they are monitoring him closely

on a possitive note he is Ok ..he is weak ..and frustraited ..
but so so strong willed and brave ..he always was my hero ..he is even more now

on a SleepingElf Note ...dolls ordered will go out now ..I just havent been able to post
and I have a HUGE batch of wigs that will go out the end of this week xx

Pete is recovering slowly ..so very slowly ..sometimes I think I may loose my mind

this journey we are on is a nightmare ...I just dream of a happy ending

we are due to see the specialist tommorow to find out what treatment he is to ahve next and the last ct scans

part of me is terrified
he has 8 lesions or nodules on his body now ..lord knows whats going on in his lungs and I am scarred shitless :(

I am doing everything I can ,...research into diet and latest complimentary treatments , I spend hours reading about diet and cancers

the McMillan nurse from Birmingham gave Kat an amazing magazine to read ICON
its eye-opening ..there are things we can do to help ..that can be used along side the radiotherapy and conventional treatments
and the future of treatments ..
it kinda keeps me sane at least I feel I have some control over this too

things are not going well this week
Im worried sick about Pete

and Chez has got worse ...so much so ..honeslty I dont think he is going to make it

yesterday I had to make a 3 hr round trip to get him too a specialist
who rang this morning ..its not looking good

his heart is at risk of failing any second and they are trying to get the fluid off his lungs
he is 10 months old ...Im left wondering what else can happen this month and its only the 2nd
orders that were supposed to be posted yesterday , wont be done untill tommorow
Im waiting to here again from the Vets

God forbid I think if anything happens to Pete again now ..im gonna blow :(

Ive missed my little girl the past couple of weeks
when I havent been in the hospital with Pete ..Ive been up the vets with Chester
Chester may have a heart defect ..at the moment his heart is raceing way too fast and he has a heart murmur
so he is going to be refered to a specialist
Pete has been discharged from the hospital , his radiotherapy is finished ..we wont know if its worked for 4 weeks ..he has to have a 3 week break from treatment then back to Dr Grummit to see if the Chemo worked at all and sort out the rest of the tumours
either Chemotherapy or something else ..dont know what that is
Ive sent out a load of orders this week and I should be getting back to normal and catching up with backdated orders this week

I carried him about in my pocket all day last week
sewing up bits as and when I could so Pete wouldn't know I was making him

he is tiny ..and I love this size ...
every day this week when we go to hospital I sit and sew ..or knit
its been a long week ..and Im out of the house more than Im in

Ive not got around to posting anything ...but I am planning on parcelling up over the weekend so I can post Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday

I managed to make up quite a lot last weekend ..but just Havant got to get them out yet
Ive had 3 dolls arrive ...Hujoo ABS ted ..who is still bald , nude and face-less ..Customhouse SD chow who is still a box of bits
and Cherish doll ltd rick ..still nude and the same state as the others ..but it was a nice suprise

Pete is doing Ok ...so far so good ..no side effects ..nothing else nasty cropping up
and 3 of the first tumours on his body that came up have shrunk ..
so were hopeful once he starts his treatment again ..we can give this illness a run for its money !!

he is just exhausted ..he cant sleep ..steroids most likely
I wish I could just magic it away
but life isnt like that is it?
were planning the day again today ...1.30 appointment
so it takes about an hour to get there
parking is a nightmare ..so Im leaving at 12.15
fill up with fuel ..and off I go

now Im answereing the e.mails I have had come in

Pete starts RadioTherapy next week
10 days worth ..every day doing a 2 hour round trip plus the hospital time
Im still working ..taking orders and working on new stock for my Etsy

I know Im going to be majorly stressed out the next 10 days
were not sleeping too well right now
but I know its all going to come right in the end
Ive enjoyed myself today photographing the new bears ..Pete helped me with them too ..fastening off cotterpins ...my hands are still very weak ..and all the driving Im doing over the next 10 days and the sewing Im doing ...he dosnt want me to knacker them up
but its taken my mind off things a little ...

Pete is looking really well ..but not knowing when he is going to have the treatment is killing me

Pete is doing Ok ..as well as one can be
he has been taken off one lot of pills ..they were making him so ill

his operation for this week has been cancelled until after he has been Zapped

but right now ...we had a wonderful normal weekend

and spent a lovely afternoon with my Brother and his wonderful new partner in their new home ...life almost felt normal xx

this illness is relentless
since October when we first found out its gone from bad to worse

yesterday we found out he has a tumor on his brain

I cant even begin to organise my thoughts

Nothing at all has been posted this week and very few e.mails answered
Hospital every day
they have cut down on the heart tablets ..the side effects are lousy ..he is exhausted
but his heart has slowed down and no more palpitations

trouble is they make his head ache and he feels giddy and nauseous
and as he is on steroids for the head pain ...its like giving you something in one hand then taking it away

back to the Hospital again today
they have said he has to have weekly blood tests at our own Drs ..so hopefully the daily trips to hospital will stop

the weekend I will parcel everything up and ship it out Saturday , Monday and Tuesday xx

another bad couple of days

Im exhausted
and wonder how on earth I will get work done ..Pete had a pretty good recovery after the head swelling thing

then another whammy yesterday .his heart
in the early hours he woke ..then woke me ..cut a long story short
I rushed him into hospital ..again
his heart is beating way to fast and has gone out of rhythm..its either the Chemo or an underlying heart defect that has just reared its head

Im floored ..just floored ..he hasnt bounced back at all from this and is still in bed
the Demons came to vistit me in the night and left me scarred and worried sick about the future

I cry a lot ..its like being a child again ..I want my husband back to normal ..I want our life back

then an old friend phoned me this morning
he gave me my fight back

"Carrie Attwood let something hurt her Pete ..its not gonna happen"
and he is right
Im going to bitch slap that cow back to were it came from

Im not letting C use up all my energy crying and worrying about what could happen

I have work to do ..a house to run and a bussiness to keep going

and more than anything I have to love and care for my husband ..who is the most wonderful person I have ever known

and Im going to do it so Im not going to waist any more time blubbering today

today were at home

tommorow all day hospital
everything I have read about Cancer ..to beat it is an up hill battle ..but its going to have to battle if it wants to take my Pete

both Pete and I are thrilled with how Milli is going
and so far this week I have raised £40.00 from other sales too

Pete is much better today ..his head is still hurting ..and the med he is on is making him drowsy ..but a far cry from Thursday

3 of the other nodes on his body are shrinking ..so we are optimistic
thats its working

the scan next week will tell us if it is ..if it is ..they will put him on steroids untill the Chemo has done its work ..

but today ..its not a bad day for us at all xx

UPDATE

Pete was rushed into hospital yesterday
he has been doing so amazingly well ...but this week he started feeling a bit fuzzy headed and had flu like symptoms
which can happen on this drug he is on
god it was terrible ...he was in agony ..scarred me shitless

His doctor thinks the chemotherapy either bought on a mother of a migraine
in which case it will be gone tommorow
or the drug is making the brain swell ..either that or the cancer has reached the brain
after a whole day of agony ..steroids ..injections to stop him being sick ..by evening he was getting slightly better ..and had stopped being sick
if its a migraine ..he will be Ok in 24hrs
if its the Chemo drug ..on the steroids and anti-sickness drugs he will be better in 48 hrs
if its on his brain ...he wont

so we came home ..exhausted

were booked in for a scan next week ... and the results will be through quickly as his Chemo is on hold .he cant have it again untill they find out if has cancer on his brain ..the chemo will be stopped and he will have radiotherapy

..it has been a lousy 24hrs ..

We haven't had to go to hospital at all this week ...the first time since September
..things feel almost normal ...Pete was ill the weekend because of the Chemo ...and his resistance to infection is at his all time low ...right now
so we are being carefull about that ..but the side effects arnt too bad for him ..now we just hope it works

This morning ...I had this come through my e.mail ...I have always wanted a Choa ...always ...and for this price ..I couldnt not

I was more than a little surprised when these dropped through my door
I had forgot about them ....
sad really :(
but its helped a little ...I got my camera out Saturday ..and started snapping ....finally something normal in my life ...

my whole life has been taken over by this appalling illness
my wonderful husband ..not 1 week has gone by since September
he hasn't been in hospital ..I cant tell you how brave he is
.my kids have suffered
my health ..my business ..
we have gone from normal ..to stage 4 Cancer in weeks ...I cant even begin to sort out my feelings
I am so rage hot angry ...

I hate this illness so much ...the rage burns sometimes
...so I write it down here and cry a llittle caus Im so angry its happening to my Pete ..who never hurt anyone

anyhow ....rage over for today ...loads of e.mails answered ..a pile or late orders out Friday ..and a load more will go out this week
Im still not on-line much ...Im so far behind with my orders ..I have to get them out before I worry myself sick again

and now I have to go pick up my Christmas tree ..caus Zack has just knocked it over ....

Pete has started Chemo ...and I am scarred still I will pass this onto him

I dont think I have ever felt such raw pain ..as I have lately ..just when you think things cant get any worse ..they do ...and you wonder how on earth you are going to get through things

I have had to cope with my family looking after us ..whilst I cant look after Pete

Im working now on catching up with all these orders and dolls I have to get out

I have just got on line ..ive been ill and in bed since saturday ...I can't belive I can get any lower ..i have a chest infection ..our family are rallying around looking after me and pete ...this is just lousy

I cannot begin to write about what we are going through

I had no idea my world would fall apart like this ...

my most precious husband has advanced cancer and we and our family are devastated

..I am asking for help .were I can get it .my Daughter is helping me to get out orders and dolls paid for

this are our priority ..they have to be ...it is my job ..and I have to look after my family too

we have had 2 beautiful Autumn weekends ..Pete is healing well ..we can manage a short walk ...so we do
Im hoping we get one more ..beautiful day next Sunday ..although Pete has to phone
the Hospital Sunday to book his bed for Monday ..then he has to have his operation
1 more weekend this Autumn would be nice ..because he is going to be off his feet for 6-8 weeks
He has his pre-op Monday ...MRI Thursday ...then phone Sunday ..in Monday

I dont think Im going to be totally happy until its out of him and we get the results back from the Scan ...and we know what were up against
but every day we live it to its fullest ...we are dressing the house up next week for Halloween :)

our family doctor has been great

My life fell apart this week ...its been a roller coaster
and I am not handling things very well right now

Pete has got to go in for emergency surgery ..the lumps that were taken for a biopsy were MM cells

Malignant Melanoma ...
a rare form ...that didn't actually show up on his skin ...
the first we knew about it was a few weeks back when he found this lump

Im trying desperately to keep orders flowing smoothly
and get dolls out ...but some days ..I fall apart ...
this past week has been hell
and any day now ..we will get the news he has to go in to have his lymph gland removed and find out if its spread
I cant believe this has happened to my wonderful man ..
at the moment he is well and strong ...and has no symptoms at all any were ..his blood work is good and there was nothing on his lungs
we are going to fight every inch of the way ....

Im selling off a large part of my collection
I just wan to make things a little easier for us whilst we fight this thing

Pete had is operation on Thursday and I just haven't been able to get to the PO

the last 4 weeks have been pretty crazy ..Petes hosiptal trips ..which feel surreal ...our holiday ..and a blur of wet wigs ..that wont dry

this is a new bed Im working on ...hopefully part of a new range if it works ..for the small elves ..1/12 scale
and I have larger bed ..which were working on for the larger Yo size dolls

all with that elfin feel to them

Some delightful DICK HEAD decided in the early hours decided to vandalise my van
so when I should have been working ..I was making statements to the Police and getting spray paint of my beloved " Star"

I am beyond angry .we are waiting for a letter ..my much better half , has to have a biopsy ..we found out last week he has 2 lumps in his lymph glands ..to say Im stressed ..a little worried a bit tense ? a bit of an understatement !!
all the cats have come down with a mystery virus
I had to get one sick cat up to the Vets , which is Chester ...sort him out and .when I should have been working ...I had to get shit loads of paint off my van
caus one dick head has gone ape with a can of spray paint

well it came off ...now my Van is lovely again ..and the Police have been really nice
Im not the only person in the area to have their property and possessions vandalised
this afternoon was spent arranging to have the tyre blown up ..so I can drop the Van closer to the fence and down the drive ..so the new security camera system I have bought will film the end of the drive and my van
so if IT HAPPENS AGAIN ...smile your on camera

So the wigs will be a day late on Etsy
so Im not happy a day behind ...and buried under work again .......

spent a lovely few days ..with friends
and got some great walking gear ..and nic nacks for the Van

we are both so stoked doing her up LOL

I - WE have spent this weekend ..doing the Van ....
and thoroughly enjoyed myself ....just spending time ..not working as in making wigs and stuff ...but with Pete..
dodging the rain showers ..although Sunday was pretty nice

the Van`s interior framework is almost done ..the cookers frame , The seats , bed and toilet has now got its frame
Pete is now on the last leg ..the storage and a sink
which I bought yesterday off Ebay ...a nice small one ...and compromising ..not a full wardrobe ..a small one ..well, we only wear Jeans and T shirts anyway LOL
there will be storage for bedding under the seat ..and jackets can hang on hooks in the cab ..or in the toilet area if they are wet
its so much fun planning everything out

The Star has really opened up now that large board is down
and the metal box ..which we think may have been an old heater box or something .. that's out

we got rid of all the old cushions ...I want new ones ...
so the cab is now clean .. vacuumed and next weekend Im just gonna give her a wipe down try and get some of the age old dust out
hopefully over the bank holiday next week ...Pete will get in the last part of the frame work ...and I can do the cab and the step

..now WIGS ...I have answered all my Etsy emails
my e.mails .. I'm doing Flikr now ..and tomorrow DOA ..my hands are hurting like hell after a day at the PC ..but Im on track

the weather is appalling ..wet ..and warm ..so NOTHING is drying fast ..its lousy ....but Im back and at work

I have several wigs for the 1ST OF SEPTEMBER ETSY update ..so hopefully everyone should get something :)

BUT ...if they cant weld her ...she has got to be scrapped and Im gutted ....:(

what a strange weekend ..and mixture of happiness and sorrow

I finally finished my Rosie and James
took me a bloody month to do the face and mould, but now its done I can make more ..if my hands hold out
and I love the results ...its so ..Me
I finnaly got my beautiful tan Lati special
and the same day "Laura" arrived ...I have found out I have a Winter Tan at last !! she should be arriving Tuesday
my collection is complete ..I have the dolls I want
my credit card is screaming ..but I couldn't give a crap ...
I spend Friday evening at an old friends Anniversary part ..its was lovely
I felt somewhat guilty for leaving unfinished work and unposted parcels ...but those I got done and out on the Saturday the morning
but then we heard some very distressing news ....

. I was up the Hospital Saturday evening with a friend ..and my daughters best friend
my daughter is distraught ,
in a freak accident her friend fell from a moving vehicle and fractured her skull ....so work was not ..and isnt a priority right now
she is stable but poorly now ...but she is going to be Ok ..one lucky lady
SUNDAY exhibited at Sams show in Stratford
Im really pleased Abracadabra bought 3 of my bears for the shop again ..its lovely , and it was wonderful to catch up with old friends
..I decided I would still only do Sams show ..Im not going back into the bear circuit .. although it is lovely to catch up with old friends ..I cant make the stock like I did and I feel Im under too much pressure to do so ...I enjoyed Sunday ...so I will keep it at that

I was bitterly disappointed I could do my Challenge entry like I wanted too . but I just couldn't finish it and I ended up ramming a redressed bear on it ..and it just wasnt me ..so I will know for next year
absolutely fell in love with a cAT IN THE hAT ..IT WAS AWESOME !

then Sunday I found out a dear lady I knew from my bear making days died a few weeks back ..she was a wonderful soul ..who worked hard looking after her disabled Son ..And it just left me feeling so ...
sad ..and thinking maybe ..Im working a little too hard again ...life is so fragile ....before we know it its gone ...so enjoy it Now ..do things that make you happy ...now ...and always make time for being creative caus I miss that so much ......thats what I learnt this weekend

and a lovely thank you to Sue ...who sent me an Pete home with 2 lovely bears ..just because she wanted too ...how nice is that ...
and Midsummers murders to close the day ...
I hardly remembered I havent had chocolate for days LOL

for those of you waiting for dolls and wigs
Im getting them shipped this week
Im affraid Im working at snails pace right now ...I had a fall 2 weeks back and hurt my wrists

that and trying to sew for a teddy show Im doing this week has left me in agony , back on pain killers and strapped from fiinger tip to elbows ...Im getting things done ..but so slow ..its very very frustraiting and I have to get finished for Sam`s show this weekend

hopefully I will rest up this weekend the Meds Im on will start working and I can get back to normal in a few days

its so frustrating ..things I took for granted ..I could just do ..now they are so hard

my hands just wont do what my head tells them too

and I find myself wanting to scream

my Dc is sending me for blood tests ..just to make sure what I have is damage from the fall and RSI ..and not anything more serious

and meanwhile ..I curse

Thistledown is STILL a no show ..I missed Miniatura ..and I now I will miss the show the weekend

It is soooooooooooooooo hot these past few days ..did a full week last week wig makeing and drying ...Im on-top of all my orders

so we had a day off ..a walk in the Wire Forest ..and picnic ..it was stunning

had a wonderful day ..only down side

I took a fall ...sigh ...its been a long time since I took a dive

thank God there was no one around ...

it reminded me ..Im overweight

all that weight crashing down on my knee and hands ..as I hit the dirt I can remember keeping my chin up

and thinking ..please God dont let me break anything not this time ..Im in the middle of a forest with 2 and a half miles to get back to the car LOL

Today Im black and blue ...and have a grim determination to get to my goal weight

I will do it ..so next time I take that walk , I will enjoy it more

a week on and on the mend ..what ever she had scarred the hell out of me
she is still on antibiotics ..she has poorly eyes right now
but ..she is so much better ..eating well and NOT sleeping as much

I cant tell you how happy its made me having her in my life
the thought of loosing her last week was awful
she is so much better its hard to believe looking and those pictures how ill she has been

today I bought myself flowers ...I fancied cheering myself up ..without eating a ton of chocolate !
Lola came home yesterday ..she still isnt well..but were getting there I think ...I was worried to death this morning ..last night she went all sleepy again ..Im just paranoid ...Ive lost 3 cats in 11 months ..and I couldnt face loosing another yet
but she woke up better ..she is still sleepy ..but ..we I think she is on the mend

Mmmmmm Ruki ...I LOVE this ..hate the cuts ..but I am hoping they will do the face-up without them

I have just enough to get 2 more tan ..I think LOL
THIS and Belle ...fraid the HK ones I WILL have to give a miss this time if I GET THESE 2 TAN
..last time I didnt get the tan though ...I never forgave myself ..and I have never been able to get a tan Momo again ..if I let tan Belle and Ruki go ..I think I will regret it
