once upon a time ..if you wanted a dolls house doll ...hey sculpt it out of Fimo ...wonderful medium, ..untill they changed it now its crap
but still ....Resin balljoint dolls ...not that easy honest
Im having a well earned holiday ...but hate not contacting people

I have sculpted , sewn and generally messed about for years,I LOVE PLAYING
I wouldn't touch Sculpty and the new Fimo if you paid me ...its not strong enough for the joints
If you can use Apoxy sculpt ...its expensive ..but worth it ...now that stuff is strong enough
I have a Huge collection of sculpting , doll anatomy , anatomy and art books ..and read anything I can
The more you know ...and all that
I totally recommend
I always recommend this book Yoshida Style sculpting book
It is amazing
It will show you how to make a ball joint doll ..joints and all ...its amazing
Working with resin ...
I'm afraid I Cant help much , I couldn't cast resin to save my life , that's why I went to Bobobie
But If you are making one or 2 dolls ..this really isnt viable as its so expensive ...you have to have 50 made
And have re-orders

...you are likely to get more help there , there is a web site somewhere that shows you how to make moulds and pour resin ...
I heard so many horror story's about fumes ...then how difficult it is to get the resin to look like professionally cast ones
And as I already had my teddy bear business and my very busy wig making business
So believe me when I say ..sculpting is a nightmare ...fur gets everywhere ...even when you think you have cleaned up
You look down and your carefully sculpted calf has a long hair permanently imbedded !
...I just don't have the room , the knowledge or the time to learn
So I decided to go with having her made professionally ..and taking a chance , that I would get left with 49
Luckily I caught the imagination of my customers ..and I'm going from strength to strength
I am a total control freak, so work alone ...I bounce ideas with my friend Blod ...she dose my art work ...but I don't use other sculptors .. at the momment ..the SleepingElf is too personal . They are my characters ...I know who is in my mind and coming next ..so sorry ...not yet

Oddbod , gets a face lift
Im so happy with Oddbod
she is a bit of a mish mash
can remember which head she is ...but she has an Ashton Drake eye mechanism and is on AD body
I carved her mouth ...just softerned the tip of her nose
blushed her eyes ..and freckled her face
I can see me doing her face again ..but Im thrilled to bits
I replaced all of her eye chips , and gave her sleepy eyes ..which I LOVE !

only trouble is its vintage fabric ..so I cant sell that one ..can I ?

I have a couple of UK orders to do ...but am resting up a couple of days ,I feel pretty rough as Im not sleeping too well
I have had to pull out of the NEC show the weekend
I have tonsillitis and the antibiotics arnt working well
today I ended up in Hospital with Quincy
huge pain ..and I feel shattered ...but good news is I didnt need to stop in or have it lanced ...agggggggggggggggggg
so Im on painkillers ,,damn they work well and antibiotics for the next 2 weeks ...but hopefully I will be Ok to get the Uk stuff out in a couple of days
so Im resting ...if you have sent me a PM I will get to it tommorow

Narea AND UPDATES ON DOLLS
They are being sent this Thursday ....for definate

I have asked for all of them to be sent by the end of this month so as we have them in time for Christmas dispatch
I finally found my yellowing BW Narea on the secondary market to replace Fleur ...I sold her the beggining of this year
and kicked myself ..when I ordered Dandilion ...I kicked myself even more
my Fleur was an older yellowed Open eye Narea ..the only thing I ever wished ..that she was the clasic Narea .....
new Fleur is a Classic ...so I am just thrilled
I am kinda thinking now I have most the dolls I need now
drum roll ....I have also got my ultimate sewing machine coming
so that will mean outfits for all tinys
Wanda the Wonderfrog , my dolls , Elf and the Hujoo tinys
plus any more you care to mention as I have most of them
and even more ....I made a tiny ...the first tiny I have been happy with for over a year
....I wasnt happy at all with my bears ...which is sad ...I should be so proud of my achievements ...but they just made me sad , like I wasnt good enough ......but yesterday I finished one ...and I wasnt sad ...I was bloody thrilled ...over the moon
