Lynmouth Find

I thought this girl deserved a post of her own

We always love to look for Glass on the pebble beach at Lynmouth , I’ve already made myself a ring from one find ,

In 1952 Lynmouth was hit by a catastrophic flood one stormy night , we had know of the disaster , after paying a visit to the museum in Lynmouth

We were talking to a Detectorist on the beech one day and he was saying most of the glass found on the beach ,comes from the homes and businesses that were washed away

This time Paul came back with some glass and what he thought was a white stone or piece of pottery ? To be honest he didn’t know what it was , he dropped it in my hand and my heart skipped a beat , she had dropped face down , but I could see a hair style … I dared to dream her face was still there as I flipped her over in my hand , …it was , her nose worn smooth by years in the waves …I called her Miss Lyn Vally …to me she began to smile …for such a tiny thing she has a huge smile ❤️

We kept her safe until we came home , after one mishap , I thought she had been thrown away when our room was cleaned ! Then Paul put her  “somewhere safe ! “ , after that I kept her wrapped in tissue in a tiny honey  jar until we got home ! ,then I sculpted her a new shoulder plate and made some tiny arms and legs out of white fine Milliput ,

Then painted her with watercolours on her face and hair and feet acrylics, then glazed her .

Carefully I made a tiny cloth body , cream cotton with tiny roses , gave her silk roses and a silk necklace

As of yet she refuses to be dressed as she loves her roses

And she is living in my Petite Properties house which I bought many years ago , it's never had occupants or furniture but it’s inspired me to make this her home, and now planning her little home too

What are the odds of this tiny head being on that each years ..being found by a couple who love miniatures  and dolls ..and  who have the capability to repair her ..what adventures did she have before Fate bought her to us …what ever befell her before ,she is here now and safe and loved ….
