Adding the details

 One of the hardest parts of adding the fine details to the boots …. White , it’s been my Achilles heal ! 

No pen is fine enough , white acrylic pens , even the finest tip is too thick , the tips dry out way too fast , Posca isn’t too bad , but again it’s too thick , the ink blobs , it’s a nightmare, 

There has been more than once I’ve come to the end , and the white details ruin it and I have to start again 

I found I was using a pin and getting the ink out of the pen … the one night whilst trawling through Facebook I saw an advert … 💡lightbulb moment 

So I bought an ink pen and some waterproof white ink 

Don’t get me wrong , it’s still nerve wracking but it’s so much better 

Now , I use the ink 

The boots will now be sealed , 2 or 3 coats … SO HAPPY LOL ( Sasha Toddler / Baby size )

Starting today with new Scissors… love them 

Guggenhein Precision 2 , and I love them 

Really enjoying making the smaller Waldorf style dolls right now 

I’ve got new felting  needles , new scissors 

The miniature crochet AND knitting on the go 

And I’m I’m still plodding on with my jumper

I did manage to do a few lovely little pixie boots for the Toddlers /Wobblers /babies … all sold but I shall be making some more in the new year

 Hadn’t realised I’d not updated here since October 

Shame on me ! 

What a busy couple of months I’ve had , crazy time getting out orders for Christmas , I did some amazing commissions, 

we had wonderful break in Worcester 

Then it was head down to get Christmas pressies made 

Absolutely knackered my hands doing some cut wobblers 

So I had to rest them , they are Ok now but the cold is making me ache 🙁

We had a lovely Christmas , Gracie stayed a couple of nights 

Now the New Year is in , I’m turning my attention to New things 

So Happy New Year 

And I’m updating here now 

Cora ❤️

 I wasn’t expecting to get Cora , not yet 

But in November the chance came for me to adopt Cora and a Cara , how could I resist 

Cora refused to have a new name , so Cora she remains 

She was beautiful when she arrived ,And once she had a Spa 

What a stunner she is ❤️

🎄🎄🎄 December already !

 What a manic couple of weeks the end of November was so I could get all my Christmas orders out for the first week in December , so we could have a couple of days away to Worcester for the Christmas Fair 

I always get so stressed ! But I did it and we had a wonderful couple of days , bought myself pressies … ate good food and came home feeling really creative x

I’m having a couple of weeks off to concentrate on some projects I have in mind …and finish my wobblers 

 boot making resumes in January 

Wobblers Assemble ❤️

 The past couple of weeks I’ve been redoing my wobblers , each one now has an extended neck and the legs were cut 

I heat them up , cut the leg , I  have the wooden rods inside , then I ram aluminium foil in the gap to keep it from closing up 

Then sculpt the hole with apoxy sculpt tinted with gouache

I will add more detail to my Wobbler page here when I get time x

October has been and gone …

 October I paid a visit to Snap and Chat …a wonderful Sasha convention …and I’m sorry to say ..I didn’t take any photographs…and I didn’t have enough painted boots …I’m making a mental note to self ….next year , April ..Newbury ! 

I am going to relax more ….and take photographs…but needless to say I was busy with the run up to it making stock and had a bit of a  “ lightbulb “ moments with the boots 

I’m spending longer and longer doing these now …but I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge and the creative process , and I’m getting finer detail , which opens up a a whole world of possibilities,

I did make a wobbler to sell …but fell in love with little Milo …so I won’t be selling him 

…bought a little Rosie to wobble …and guess what …fell in love with her too …she has a tiny little black spot on her nose …so right now she has Oxy 10 on it ….but her hair is gorgeous…I may give her blue eyes though

 I’ve had my head down working to get things done for the Sasha meet up soon , but in between sewing and painting , something has been on my mind and when I get like that I have to do it , it’s taken days and lots of lumps of apoxy sculpt laying about , and there is paint everywhere.. thank God for silicon gloves ,  but I’m happy with the overall results , this is Milo , not Max , the scruffy little broken baby who I have been working on , he has the most beautiful hair , so much to Carrot and Sprouts joy , he is staying blond . He’s been wobbled using apoxy sculpt stained , I used gouache, which has a really strong pigment , once the apoxy had dried the paint is fixed  his legs cut , as I straighten them , then I rammed the gap solid with tin foil , next time I do it I will take photographs , and his neck slight lengthened also with apoxy . 

The girls are a bit miffed because they are still outnumbered 

But I have promised them both another girl will join them 

Now Carrot and Sprout are both demanding new legs so they can be tall too and so has Moms visiting little girl , eventually I will do them all . 

I’ve also had my suspicions confirmed one leg is indeed longer than the other so I have put a lift in his shorter legs shoe so he can stand

 It’s been a busy relaxing few weeks , can’t believe it’s October , nights are drawing in and in the evening I sit and sew whilst watching Sister Boniface and Father Brown , overjoyed to have a new Shakespeare and Hathaway 

As Paul redecorates our living room 

New sofa , chair rug and curtains , can’t wait until it’s done

Baby Beans 🩷

 I loved my Baby Beans when I was little …I remember vividly taking her on holiday and sleeping with her …I was never into baby dolls …but loved her , 

I have no idea what happened to her …lost on one of my house moves I suspect …which is a shame …I was always do careful of my childhood favourites ..but she is long gone … so when I saw this little waif …who was the spitting image of my old BB ..I had to rescue her 

Poo thing had been loved , she had obviously lost her beans and had been repaired …so after a bath ….I carefully repaired her feet , replaced her stuffing with kapock , and new beans …I could remember how she felt ..and how she cuddled …then I made her a tunic and new hat to match her new feet , carefully covered her holes , and replaced her hair …it was half gone ..and I was sure my girl had paler hair ..although this hair was very dirty and discoloured 

…I’m so happy with BB …she sits by my bed now ….and I do love her , she brings back so many memories
