Im a little behind this week ...Rosie was off last week
..I spent a day and a half out of my work room waiting for my shippment of tan dolls ...and shame on me ..had my hair cut

kinda pleased with it ...its short ...very short now ..and Midnight ..blue
love it ...

but Im 3 days behind

Im off down my "shop " , to put the heating on and now to catch up
I thought Spring had come this weekend ..it was quite lovely
but its colder today ....But Spring is around the corner now ...that would be lovely

Im so looking forward to sitting in my workshop ..with the front open ..sewing ...or sculpting ..or glueing ...cant wait

Wow ...that was fast

just an update .....I have now sold out of blonde ...Ginger Nut ...anything based on a blond or white pelt

I have had so many orders arriveing ...e,mail , DOA and my web site

I have contacted my supplier and had an extra 2 shippments of pelts added
.it will be with me next week if everything goes smoothly



I am considering ..no longer taking on cuts ...
it slows me down to be honest ..they take tripple the time
....I also get very nervous about making them ..either making mistakes ..or I even forgot to cut one wig this month and I now have an irate customer
which upsets me ...I know I have made a mistake and dont like it
...I hate the pressure and dont like working this way ..so I think as from today Im not cutting


I will still make boys wigs ...but will list them on Etsy
I think that would be the best thing to do

all orders with cuts will be done ...but I dont think I want the pressure of taking them on


..might still do the Puki bobs ...I love Puki Bobs

I have been so stressed out today
I ended up in A&E with my Son ..he has a cracked rib and cracked elbow ...dont you just love bikes LOL

And then Damage Control ..16 year olds hormones and heartache
..and the day has gone ...I did do a few wigs ...
but found it very hard to concentrate

so I rewigged Blossom and Bod ...and took some new pictures
I have just invested an aweful lot of Dosh on a new camera ..but it was worth it ..the colours are so true ..and it was a pleasure to use

Now I need a shower ..and chill with Marple ..I was going to try uploading more pictures ..but the link is so slow tonight its killing me

I loved making this outfit ..and wig ..thrilled with it


I have gone onto wait list on DOA for the wigs ..simply because I have run out of white ..and blonde is almost gone

I have more on order ..in fact 2 lots so I dont think there will be much of a delay

great news ..Mina will be done in a month to 2 months

and .....I am doing Bracken , he will be an open edition

....and there is going to be a very special Edition of Bracken
Ltd to 25 ...well 24 ..because I am keeping 1 ...IN RED
I live working with Dennis and Bobobie ..they are just the best

he will be available in about 4 -5 months ..so plenty of time for us all to start saving

catching up

I havent been too well ...so I decided it was time to have a weekend off ..only problem is , I didnt do much but take photos and watch the snow this weekend ...but now I have to answer all the e.mails and PMs I have had come in this weekend

I have a HUGE ammount of wigs made ...they are being parceled up and posted today ..and 1 white Mina ...she is to go out today too

Snow is supposed to be moveing in again ...wonder what it will be like tommorow
for now its cold , snowing and raining ...

In came the New Year ...down came the decorations ...we put our decorations up Dec 1st and take them down Jan 1st
We started the new year with New Cooker ..New Fridge and New TV
everything went at once ...and some new cookwere

AND ordered little Liele off Ebay
And Im waiting for 2 Fee`s ,and Lati Laches to arrive

I have Sold Dandilion ...I adore her face ..but I prefere my Narea
So Im not keeping her

I also think my Isoa head is going ,my SD mIYU and my B-el and Lusis head ...

I settled down yesterday evening and designed a new bear for class ..I'm well pleased with him...I will be making a few alterations to the master pattern ..but Im overall happy with the results

So the past couple of days have been hectic ...and I'm settling down to 2009
New Orders , New designs ..New dolls ..and full of inspiration
I feel all exited !

I have has to write a general letter and post to all of them '

once upon a time ..if you wanted a dolls house doll ...hey sculpt it out of Fimo ...wonderful medium, ..untill they changed it now its crap
but still ....Resin balljoint dolls ...not that easy honest

Im having a well earned holiday ...but hate not contacting people

so here it is for anyone who is wondering about contacting

Come in yesterday and today all asking the same ...so I'm kinda sending a general letter out to all of you instead of answering everyone individually, Sorry ..hate being this impersonal ...but otherwise honest I would be on there laptop all week ...

I have sculpted , sewn and generally messed about for years,I LOVE PLAYING
I wouldn't touch Sculpty and the new Fimo if you paid me ...its not strong enough for the joints
If you can use Apoxy sculpt ...its expensive ..but worth it ...now that stuff is strong enough
I have a Huge collection of sculpting , doll anatomy , anatomy and art books ..and read anything I can
The more you know ...and all that
I totally recommend
I always recommend this book Yoshida Style sculpting book
It is amazing
It will show you how to make a ball joint doll ..joints and all ...its amazing
Working with resin ...
I'm afraid I Cant help much , I couldn't cast resin to save my life , that's why I went to Bobobie
But If you are making one or 2 dolls ..this really isnt viable as its so expensive ...you have to have 50 made
And have re-orders

...you are likely to get more help there , there is a web site somewhere that shows you how to make moulds and pour resin ...
I heard so many horror story's about fumes ...then how difficult it is to get the resin to look like professionally cast ones
And as I already had my teddy bear business and my very busy wig making business
So believe me when I say ..sculpting is a nightmare ...fur gets everywhere ...even when you think you have cleaned up
You look down and your carefully sculpted calf has a long hair permanently imbedded !
...I just don't have the room , the knowledge or the time to learn
So I decided to go with having her made professionally ..and taking a chance , that I would get left with 49
Luckily I caught the imagination of my customers ..and I'm going from strength to strength

I am a total control freak, so work alone ...I bounce ideas with my friend Blod ...she dose my art work ...but I don't use other sculptors .. at the momment ..the SleepingElf is too personal . They are my characters ...I know who is in my mind and coming next ..so sorry ...not yet
